General Description
The TROY VALVE Telescoping Valve is designed to regulate the fluid level of tanks, lagoons, ponds or other water containment structures. Fluid level of tanks, lagoons, ponds or other water containment structures. Fluid may be removed from the surface by lowering the slip tube below the surface or, fluid may be drawn off the bottom of the adjacent tank, such as a settling basin, by lowering the slip tube below the surface level of the adjacent tank. Fluid would then flow through a connecting pipe from the bottom of the settling tank, up through the slip tube and over the top. TROY VALVE operators require no separate locking mechanisms to prevent the slip tube from traveling once postition is set.
Construction Features:
Slip Tube Troy Telescoping Valves are available in a full range of sizes. The Slip Tube material can be Stainless Steel (304 is Standard) or PVC. Other materials are available upon request. The Slip Tube may be supplied square on top or with a V-notch for estimating flow. Scum Baffles are also available.
Flange, Gasket Retainer and Gasket The Slip Tube gasket shall be Bana-n and replaceable without removal of the Slip Tube assembly from the riser pipe, Lift Rod or Actuator. The Gasket Retainer shall be Stainless Steel and the Flange shall be Cast Iron, unless otherwise specified.
Lift Rod and Bail The Lift Rod and Bail shall be Stainless Steel.
Operator TROY VALVE offers both Rising Stem (Rack and Pinion Style) or Non-Rising Stem Operators:
- Rack & Pinion Style The Operator shall be rising stem, rack and Pinion Type, with a worm gear operator and bronze bearings. For safety and efficiency, the operator shall be self locking, eliminating the need for additional locking devices. A clear Acrylic Rack Cover with a calibrate Mylar Strip Position Indicator shall be provided.
- Non Rising Stem Operators The Operator shall be a non-rising stem style with a hand wheel and linear position indicator, calibrated in ½" increments, incorporated in the Stainless Steel (or Cast Iron) floor stand. A Stainless Steel traveling torque and Stainless Steel (or Cast Iron) floor stand. A Stainless Steel traveling torque tube and Stainless Steel Anti-Rotation Plate shall be incorporated to prevent the Slip Tube from rotating. The steel lifting screw shall be 1¼" diameter and completely enclosed, with a bronze lifting nut. All fastners are to be 304 Stainless Steel.
Telescoping Valve shall be the Troy Valve "Safety Lock", Self Locking Telescoping Valve, as made by Troy Valve or equal.
